About
A very long-chain saturated fatty alcohol used as an emollient with minimal skin interaction.
Myricyl alcohol (also known as melissyl alcohol, C30H61OH) is a high molecular weight saturated primary alcohol. As a very long-chain fatty alcohol, it has minimal skin absorption potential and functions primarily as a texture-enhancing emollient. It is not restricted in EU cosmetics regulation and has no significant toxicological concerns. Derived from natural waxes such as beeswax, it represents one of the higher molecular weight fatty alcohols used in cosmetics.
