About

Nerolidol (CAS 7212-44-4) is a naturally occurring sesquiterpene alcohol present in neroli, jasmine, lavender, and many other essential oils. It functions as a perfuming agent. GHS classifications include H317 (skin sensitizer, Category 1B), H315 (skin irritation), H319 (eye irritation), H335 (respiratory irritation), and H400/H410 (very toxic to aquatic life). Despite sensitization potential, it is not among the EU's 26 mandatory-declaration fragrance allergens. Has antimicrobial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory biological activities. Global cosmetic usage: 10–100 metric tons/year.
