About
A NAD+ precursor salt combining nicotinamide riboside with malic acid, supporting cellular energy metabolism and skin barrier function.
Niacinamide riboside is a direct precursor to NAD+, a coenzyme critical for cellular energy production, DNA repair, and sirtuin activity. The malate salt improves bioavailability compared to the parent compound. EU Regulation 1223/2009 does not restrict this ingredient; niacinamide itself is permitted as a skin-conditioning agent. The European Commission's CosIng database lists niacinamide with no restrictions.
Skin benefits
- Increases NAD+ levels for cellular repair
- Improves skin barrier function and reduces transepidermal water loss
- Addresses photodamage and hyperpigmentation
Known concerns
- May cause mild flushing at very high oral doses
- Topical use generally well tolerated
