About
Nipradilol is a cosmetic ingredient used in product formulations. Exercise caution due to limited available safety data.
Nipradilol is a beta-blocker drug (non-selective beta-antagonist with some alpha-blocking and NO-releasing activity) used in the treatment of hypertension and glaucoma. It has no established cosmetic function and is not listed in CosIng. Beta-blockers applied topically could theoretically affect cutaneous vascular function and are prescription-only pharmaceuticals. The risk of systemic absorption and pharmacological effect makes this substance entirely inappropriate for cosmetic use.
Known concerns
- Prescription pharmaceutical — no cosmetic application
- No safety data for topical cosmetic use
- Not listed in CosIng
- Potential cardiovascular and vascular effects from skin absorption
