Nonyl Acetate (pelargonyl acetate, C9) is a fatty acetate with a sweet, orange-like, waxy floral odor. It occurs naturally in orange and other citrus oils. Reviewed extensively by RIFM and IFRA with no restrictions applicable to cosmetic use. The straight-chain saturated structure is inherently low in toxicity. No significant irritation or sensitisation has been observed at levels up to 10% in formulations. Suitable for use in all cosmetic product types including those used on sensitive skin.
