About
The non-triglyceride fraction of olive oil — rich in sterols, squalene, and tocopherols that support skin barrier and softness.
Olea europaea fruit unsaponifiables (CAS 8001-25-0 refers to olive oil base) is the 1-3% fraction of olive oil left after saponification, concentrated in beta-sitosterol and other phytosterols, squalene, triterpene alcohols (erythrodiol, uvaol), and tocopherols. In cosmetics it is valued for skin-barrier support, emollient feel, and antioxidant activity. EU CosIng lists it for skin-conditioning function; no Annex II/III restrictions and no CIR concerns at cosmetic levels. Well tolerated and structurally similar to human sebum components.
