About
Olive seed/pit — supplies nourishing oleic lipids and antioxidant olive phenolics. A well-tolerated Mediterranean classic.
Olea europaea seed or seed oil provides oleic, linoleic, and palmitic acid triglycerides with squalene, tocopherols, and characteristic phenolics (oleuropein, hydroxytyrosol). In cosmetics it functions as an emollient, antioxidant, and skin conditioning agent. CIR has reviewed Olea europaea-derived ingredients (fruit oil, leaf extract, unsaponifiables) and found them safe as used. EU CosIng lists it without restriction. Ground olive pit is also used as a gentle natural exfoliant.
