About
A low-ethoxylation oleyl alcohol phosphate ester emulsifier used in cosmetic formulations, offering a balance between lipophilicity and water dispersibility, with minimal regulatory concerns in the EU at current use concentrations.
Poly(oxy-1,2-ethanediyl), α-9-octadecenyl-ω-hydroxy-(Z)-, phosphate with an average of 4 mol EO. Functions as an anionic emulsifier and co-surfactant. No EU restriction entries in Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009; listed in CosIng without Annex II or III classification. The 4 mol EO chain is similar to the 2 mol EO analogue in overall lipophilic character but provides slightly better water dispersibility. The phosphate ester linkage is hydrolytically stable under cosmetic formulation conditions.
Skin benefits
- Versatile W/O and O/W emulsifier depending on formulation context
- Provides stable emulsion performance
