About
A 12-residue synthetic peptide with tryptophan inclusion that functions as a skin conditioning agent, broadly similar to other cosmetic oligopeptides but with a distinct amino acid composition.
Oligopeptide-140 is a synthetic peptide containing nine standard amino acids including cysteine, glycine, isoleucine, leucine, phenylalanine, proline, serine, tryptophan and tyrosine. It is not listed in EU Annex II or III and is permitted for cosmetic use. The presence of tryptophan and cysteine suggests potential for disulfide bonding, which may affect its stability and activity in formulation.
