Opuntia tuna (prickly pear, cactus pear, barbary fig) fruit is rich in betalain pigments, vitamin C, vitamin E, and omega fatty acids. The seeds contain particularly high levels of linoleic acid (omega-6). No EU cosmetics restrictions apply to Opuntia fruit. It has gained popularity in cosmetic formulations for its excellent moisturizing, soothing, and anti-aging properties, particularly in products targeting dry or mature skin.
