About
A botanical water from tree peony roots with paeonol and mucilage providing anti-inflammatory and barrier-supporting benefits.
Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Water is obtained by steam distillation of the roots of the Moutan tree peony. The primary active constituent is paeonol (2-hydroxy-4-methoxyacetophenone), a phenolic compound with well-documented anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activity. Paeonol inhibits COX-2 expression and nitric oxide production. The aqueous distillate also carries trace mucilaginous polysaccharides. CosIng listed, no restrictions.
