About
Ginseng root protoplasts, a potent adaptogenic extract prized in Korean skincare for its energizing and anti-wrinkle properties.
Panax ginseng root protoplasts are prepared by enzymatic removal of the cell wall from ginseng root cells, creating spherical living-cell units that may have improved bioavailability of ginsenosides. The underlying ginseng root is not restricted under EU Regulation 1223/2009. The protoplast format is a newer biotechnology-derived ingredient; while each individual constituent is well-studied, the protoplast format itself lacks extensive independent safety assessment. Use in leave-on cosmetic products at low percentages is recommended.
Skin benefits
- Enhanced delivery of ginsenosides compared to standard extracts
- Contains whole ginseng cellular constituents including polysaccharides and peptides
- Potential for better bioavailability in skin
