About
A mid-range PEG oleate ester used as an emulsifier and surfactant in cosmetics; generally safe with a mild irritation profile.
PEG-10 OLEATE is the polyethylene glycol (10 mol EO average) monoester of oleic acid, functioning as a nonionic surfactant and emulsifier. It is not listed in EU Annex II or III restriction lists. Mid-range ethoxylated PEG oleates offer a balance of emulsifying performance and skin tolerance. Mild skin or eye irritation is possible at higher concentrations. Trace 1,4-dioxane from ethoxylation is a standard impurity consideration.
Skin benefits
- Effective emulsifier for cosmetic formulations
- Provides emollient and skin-conditioning properties
Known concerns
- Mild skin or eye irritation possible at high concentrations
