About
A longer-chain polyethylene glycol laurate ester used as an emulsifier and skin conditioning agent in a wide range of cosmetic formulations.
PEG-12 LAURATE is the esterification product of polyethylene glycol (12 EO units) with lauric acid, providing a longer hydrophilic chain compared to PEG-9 LAURATE. The higher ethoxylation degree reduces skin penetration potential and improves water solubility, resulting in a higher safety score. The substance is listed in the EU cosmetics database without restrictions in Annexes II or III. PEG-12 laurate is widely used in both rinse-off and leave-on cosmetic products.
