PEG-15 JOJOBA ALCOHOL
Safety score · 0–100

Ethoxylated jojoba alcohol that helps condition and soften skin
PEG-15 jojoba alcohol represents the lower ethoxylation range for jojoba-derived alcohols, retaining more of the natural jojoba wax ester character while gaining water solubility. The lower ethylene oxide content reduces (but does not eliminate) the 1,4-dioxane impurity risk compared to higher PEG variants. EU cosmetics regulation permits this ingredient with standard purity requirements. The jojoba base provides excellent skin compatibility consistent with the well-established safety profile of jojoba oil and derivatives.
Skin benefits
- Jojoba-based emollient providing excellent skin-conditioning and moisturization
- Preserved natural jojoba wax ester benefits compared to higher ethoxylated versions
- Self-emulsifying properties for natural cosmetic formulations
Known concerns
- Reduced but not eliminated 1,4-dioxane impurity risk compared to higher PEG ingredients
- May contain trace ethylene oxide residuals from manufacturing process
