About

An ethoxylated plant sterol that functions as an emollient and emulsifier with a good safety profile in cosmetics.

PEG-15 Phytosterol is the polyethylene glycol ether of phytosterols (plant-derived sterols such as sitosterol, campesterol, and stigmasterol) with an average of 15 ethylene oxide units. Ethoxylated sterols are generally well-tolerated on the skin and serve as effective emollients and emulsifiers. They are not specifically restricted under EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009. PEG compounds should be assessed for residual ethylene oxide and 1,4-dioxane content.
