About
A hydrogenated, moderately-ethoxylated tallow amine. Functional cationic surfactant with the class nitrosamine and dioxane concerns.
PEG-20 hydrogenated tallow amine (CAS 61791-26-2, hydrogenated grade) is a saturated polyethoxylated fatty amine from tallow with 20 EO units. Hydrogenation improves oxidative stability; 20 EO gives balanced water solubility and skin tolerance. CIR has cleared PEG-alkyl amines for rinse-off with raw-material purity controls. Amine-class nitrosamine formation concern applies when combined with nitrosating agents. PEG-process 1,4-dioxane residuals require stripping. Score sits mid Moderate/orange — typical for the family.
