An ethoxylated amine-based surfactant that helps blend oil and water phases while providing antistatic conditioning.
PEG-5 Stearamine is the ethoxylated derivative of stearamine (octadecanamine) with an average of 5 moles of ethylene oxide, used as a surfactant and antistatic agent. Amine-based ethoxylates may form nitrosamines as trace impurities, which are regulated carcinogens; formulation purity is critical. It is permitted under EU Regulation 1223/2009 with typical use levels between 0.1% and 2% in rinse-off products.
