About
Avocado fruit extract, rich in fatty acids and vitamins that deeply nourish and soften the skin.
Persea gratissima (avocado) fruit is rich in fatty acids, vitamins (A, D, E), and sterols. Avocado oil is extensively used in cosmetics. However, avocado is associated with 'latex-fruit syndrome' — cross-reactivity between latex and avocado allergens (including profilin and hevein-like proteins). Individuals with latex allergy may also react to avocado. This is not an EU-restricted ingredient but should be declared on the INCI label for allergy awareness.
Skin benefits
- Rich in moisturizing fatty acids
- Contains skin-repairing vitamins A, D, E
- Supports skin barrier function
Known concerns
- Avocado-latex cross-reactivity possible — latex-fruit syndrome
- Must be declared as potential allergen for latex-allergic individuals
