About
Amla (Indian gooseberry) juice — exceptionally high in vitamin C and tannins, used for antioxidant and conditioning benefit. Can feel astringent.
Phyllanthus emblica (amla, Indian gooseberry) fruit juice is pressed from one of the most vitamin C–dense fruits in nature and is a cornerstone of Ayurvedic medicine. In cosmetics it is used for antioxidant, skin-brightening, and scalp-conditioning function, with multiple published in-vitro and ex-vivo studies supporting its polyphenol activity. EU CosIng lists the ingredient without restriction. Main caveats are astringency/drying from tannins at higher concentrations and staining potential; it does not carry a GHS hazard classification.
