About

Phytyl Nicotinate is a cosmetic ingredient. Exercise caution due to limited available safety data.

Phytyl Nicotinate is the nicotinic acid ester of phytol (the diterpene alcohol from chlorophyll), combining vitamin B3 activity with improved lipid solubility from the phytol chain. The esterification of niacin with phytol reduces the flushing associated with nicotinic acid while retaining antioxidant and skin conditioning benefits. It is not restricted in EU cosmetics.

Skin benefits

  • Niacin-like vitamin B3 activity
  • Enhanced lipid solubility — better skin penetration
  • Antioxidant
  • May reduce niacin-induced skin flushing
