About
Aqueous distillate from Swiss stone pine leaves and twigs. A gentle botanical water used for soothing, antioxidant support, and mild aromatic qualities.
Pinus cembra leaf/twig water is the aqueous phase recovered when Swiss stone pine (a high-altitude conifer) plant matter is steam-distilled. Unlike the essential oil (which concentrates terpenes and can sensitize), the water phase carries only soluble trace aromatics at much lower concentration — making it suitable for toners, mists, and leave-on formulations for generally tolerant skin. Its main cosmetic roles are skin conditioning, low-level antioxidant support (polyphenol traces), and a light pine scent contribution. No significant regulatory restrictions in the EU for the water fraction. Contact allergy has been reported for pine-resin products but is uncommon for the aqueous distillate specifically.
Skin benefits
- Plant-derived antioxidant support
- Skin soothing and calming
- Naturally aromatic, well-tolerated at aqueous concentrations
Known concerns
- Rare terpene sensitization in individuals with pine allergy
- Trace fragrance-allergen components possible
