About
A pine bark extract from Korean red pine — delivers proanthocyanidins and essential oils for antioxidant and antimicrobial benefits, though resin acids can irritate sensitive skin.
Pinus densiflora (Korean red pine) bark contains condensed proanthocyanidins, flavonoid glycosides (quercetin, myricetin derivatives), and essential oil components including α-pinene, β-pinene, and limonene. The proanthocyanidin fraction provides potent antioxidant activity, significantly outperforming vitamin C in some assays. Essential oils and resin acids in the bark can cause primary skin irritation at high concentrations, and allergic contact dermatitis is possible, particularly in individuals with pine resin sensitivity.

Known concerns
- Essential oil components (pinene, limonene) may cause skin irritation
