About

An abrasive botanical powder from maritime pine seed residue, rich in polyphenols and fatty acids. Provides gentle exfoliation while conditioning skin with antioxidant compounds.

Pinus Pinaster Seedcake Powder is the powder obtained from the dried, ground seedcake remaining after oil extraction from the seeds of Pinus pinaster (maritime pine, Pinaceae), which is native to the Mediterranean region. Maritime pine seeds contain fatty acids (including linoleic acid), proteins, and antioxidant polyphenols such as catechin and procyanidins. The seedcake byproduct retains these components. As a cosmetic ingredient, it functions as an abrasive and skin conditioning agent. Pine bark extracts (from the same species) are well-studied for their antioxidant properties, and similar benefits may be expected from the seedcake.
