About
A PEG-free polyglycerol-based emulsifier and emollient — helps mix oil and water gently. Considered one of the safer modern emulsifier options.
Polyglyceryl-10 dipalmitate is a non-ionic emulsifier formed by esterifying decaglycerol with palmitic acid (a saturated fatty acid from palm or coconut). It functions as both an emulsifier and a soft emollient. Increasingly used as a sustainable, PEG-free alternative to ethoxylated emulsifiers, with no concerns for 1,4-dioxane or ethylene oxide residues. CIR has reviewed the broader polyglyceryl ester family and concluded they are safe as used in cosmetics. Readily biodegradable, no GHS hazards. Tolerated well across leave-on and rinse-off applications.
