About
A widely used emulsifier and thickener combining polyglycerin with three stearic acid chains, giving creams their smooth, rich texture.
Polyglyceryl-10 Tristearate is the triester of polyglycerin-10 with stearic acid. With 3 of the 10 possible hydroxyls esterified, it has a relatively balanced hydrophilic-lipophilic profile and is widely used in o/w emulsions as a primary or co-emulsifier. It also contributes to product viscosity and provides emolliency from the stearic acid moiety. Stearic acid itself is a common, well-tolerated skin-identical fatty acid. The ingredient is listed in CosIng without restrictions.
Skin benefits
- Smooth, rich texture
- Emollient
