About
A light emulsifier and surfactant based on polyglycerin and caprylic acid (C8). Particularly effective at dispersing oils in water-based formulas.
Polyglyceryl-2 Caprylate is the diester of polyglycerin-2 with caprylic acid. It acts as a nonionic surfactant and emulsifier with good hydrophilic character, making it useful in light lotions and serums. The short-chain caprylic acid imparts lower occlusion and a drier feel compared to longer-chain analogues. Not restricted in EU or US cosmetic regulations.
