About
A lightweight emulsifier with two stearic acid chains on a short polyglycerin, providing efficient emulsification without heavy feel.
Polyglyceryl-2 Distearate is the diester of polyglycerin-2 with stearic acid. The short polyglycerin backbone (2 units) means it is less polymerized and potentially has better biodegradability than higher-degree polyglycerin esters. It functions as a nonionic surfactant and emulsifier with good performance in o/w emulsions. No free glycerol concern (polymerization degree too low). Stearic acid contributes mild emolliency. CosIng lists no restrictions.
Skin benefits
- Lightweight emolliency
- Efficient emulsification

Known concerns
