A PEG-free polyglyceryl emulsifier with six caprylic esters. Gentle emulsifier for clean-beauty formats.
Polyglyceryl-20 hexacaprylate is a non-ionic emulsifier made by esterifying six caprylic (C8) acids onto a 20-unit polyglycerol backbone. Compared with the hepta- version it is slightly more hydrophilic, making it suitable for more water-continuous emulsions. Polyglyceryl esters are broadly reviewed and supported by CIR. INCI-specific monograph does not exist. Starting materials (glycerin, caprylic acid) are food-grade. Common dosing 0.5-5%.
