About
A polyurethane polymer used in hair and skin cosmetics that forms flexible films, with an excellent safety profile as an inert high-molecular-weight polymer not absorbed through skin.
Polyurethane-93 is a film-forming polymer produced from Succinic Acid, 1,4-Butanediol, Neopentyl Glycol and Isophorone Diisocyanate, further reacted with sodium N-(2-aminoethyl)-2-aminoethanesulfonate and Isophorone Diamine. High-molecular-weight polyurethanes are not absorbed through skin and are considered inert in cosmetic formulations. It is not listed in any annex of EU Regulation EC 1223/2009 and has a well-established safety record in leave-on hair and skin products.
