About
A propoxylated jojoba-derived alcohol — gives a silky, conditioned feel with the spreadability benefits of a PPG backbone.
PPG-10 Jojoba Alcohol is the reaction product of hydrogenated jojoba alcohol with ~10 moles of propylene oxide. It couples the skin-friendly C20 jojoba alkyl tail with a short propoxylated chain, giving a water-dispersible emollient with good spreading and conditioning on skin and hair. Applications span lotions, leave-on hair, and facial care at 0.5–5%. Propoxylation (not ethoxylation) avoids the 1,4-dioxane question but introduces a small trace-propylene-oxide concern that purified cosmetic grade addresses. No specific regulatory red flags. Standalone toxicology is limited but the parent materials are well-tolerated.
