About

A PPG-based oleate ester that acts as a skin-conditioning emollient — gives products a smooth, dry finish without heaviness.

PPG-26 Oleate is a polypropylene glycol (26 PO units) monoester of oleic acid. It is used as a skin-conditioning agent and emollient in cosmetic formulations, providing a dry, non-greasy feel compared to heavier triglyceride-based emollients. The longer PPG chain (26 units) gives it a more hydrophobic character than shorter PPG diesters. Polypropylene glycols are generally low in toxicity and are not significant skin sensitizers or irritants at cosmetic use levels. It is structurally similar to other well-characterized cosmetic emollients and has no EU restrictions.
