About
An ethoxylated and propoxylated isodecyl alcohol that functions as a surfactant and emulsifier, providing good skin compatibility in cosmetic emulsions.
PPG-3-Isodeceth-1 (CAS 155683-77-5) is an alcohol ether belonging to the PPG (polypropylene glycol) and PEG (polyethylene glycol) family, derived from isodecyl alcohol. The substance is not listed in EU Annex II (prohibited substances) or Annex III (restricted substances) of Regulation 1223/2009. Alcohol ethoxylates of this type are widely used surfactants with generally favourable safety profiles. The low degree of ethoxylation (1 EO) and propoxylation (3 PO) results in a more lipophilic surfactant suitable for emulsification.
