PPG-36 OLEATE
Safety score · 0–100
Fine
Derived from EU CosIng regulatory status, PubChem hazard data and published research. How we score.
A longer-chain PPG oleate ester with rich emollient properties — similar to PPG-26 Oleate but with an even drier, more substantive skin feel.
PPG-36 Oleate is a polypropylene glycol (36 PO units) monoester of oleic acid. The extended PPG chain (36 units) makes it more lipophilic and gives it a heavier, more substantive feel on skin compared to shorter-chain PPG oleates. It functions as a skin-conditioning agent and emollient. The higher molecular weight reduces potential for skin penetration and systemic absorption. This ingredient is considered safe in cosmetic use with no significant restrictions; however, comprehensive toxicological testing data specific to PPG-36 Oleate are limited, so it is evaluated by analogy to the broader class of PPG esters.
