Derived from EU CosIng regulatory status, PubChem hazard data and published research. How we score.
A propoxylated jojoba alcohol — silky, lightweight emollient with good slip. Generally well tolerated; impurity profile depends on supplier.
PPG-4 Jojoba Alcohol is the propylene-oxide ether of jojoba-derived long-chain fatty alcohols, providing a lightweight silicone-like skin feel in emulsions and anhydrous products. It functions as an emollient and skin-conditioning agent. CIR has assessed the broader class of polypropylene-glycol ethers of fatty alcohols as safe for cosmetic use when formulated without concerning impurities; propoxylates in general can carry trace residues of propylene oxide if purification is inadequate. No EU CosIng restriction.
