About

Saccharomyces yeast fermented on sea silt — a postbiotic marine-mineral ingredient. Low-concern overall but requires supplier heavy-metal testing.

Saccharomyces/sea silt ferment is produced by culturing Saccharomyces yeast on a substrate of marine silt (sea-bed sediment). The resulting broth contains yeast-derived peptides, polysaccharides and amino acids together with trace elements liberated from the silt. Marine sediment can contain heavy metals (lead, arsenic, mercury, cadmium); reputable suppliers provide certificates limiting these below EU cosmetic impurity guidance. Yeast allergens apply to a small population. No specific CIR review.
