About
Soapberry fruit powder — a natural cleansing agent with gentle surfactant properties.
Sapindus mukorossi fruit powder contains triterpenoid saponins (sapindosides A and B) which are natural surfactants. Saponins can disrupt cell membranes and cause irritation to eyes and mucous membranes. Not specifically listed in EU Cosmetics Regulation Annexes; the related Sapindus saponaria is better documented. At cosmetic use levels, saponin content is generally tolerable.
