Bahera fruit — a traditional Ayurvedic ingredient valued for its purifying and astringent qualities.

Terminalia bellerica fruit contains high levels of gallic acid, ellagic acid, and hydrolyzable tannins. Used extensively in Ayurvedic formulations. Not listed in EU Cosmetics Regulation Annexes II–VI but tannins can be skin-sensitizing at high concentrations. Formulation at typical cosmetic use levels (≤1–5%) is considered safe.
