About
A pine-derived terpene/terpenoid blend (Sinpine) — classic pine-woody fragrance but terpene oxidation is a well-known sensitization pathway.
Terpenes and terpenoids (Sinpine, CAS 68917-63-5) is a trade fraction of pine-derived terpene/terpenoid material — essentially a complex mixture dominated by pinenes and related monoterpenes/terpenoids. The chemistry is well-studied: pinenes readily form hydroperoxides on air exposure, and these oxidation products are documented skin sensitizers recognized by the EU and referenced in dermatology contact-allergen panels. Fresh, well-antioxidant-protected material at low inclusion is usually tolerated, but aged or poorly stabilized product risks elevated allergen burden. Default-yellow reflects the balance of common use against real oxidation-related concerns.
