About
A dipeptide conjugated with thymol (thyme-derived phenol). Novel skin-conditioning active; thymol portion can mildly sensitize.
Thymol acetyl dipeptide-82 is a synthetic two-amino-acid peptide modified with a thymol-acetyl group. Thymol is a phenolic monoterpene from thyme oil with antimicrobial and antioxidant activity, but is also a recognised mild fragrance allergen. The peptide-thymol conjugate is used at parts-per-million levels; there is no SCCS or CIR opinion, and toxicology rests on supplier dossiers. Free thymol or thymol-decomposition products could in principle sensitize a small fraction of users.
