About

An anionic surfactant compound of lauryl sulfate neutralised with triisopropanolamine (TIPA), used as a cleansing and foaming agent in personal care products.

TIPA-Lauryl Sulfate (CAS 66161-60-2) is listed in EU Annex III (entry III/62) of Regulation 1223/2009, which restricts certain alkyl sulfate surfactants in cosmetic products. The restriction relates primarily to purity requirements and maximum concentration limits for rinse-off products. When used in compliance with these restrictions, the substance is considered safe. The TIPA (triisopropanolamine) counterion is also used in cosmetics and is not independently restricted.
