About

A vitamin E (tocopherol) derivative linked to nicotinic acid that combines antioxidant protection with improved skin penetration, used for anti-aging and skin-brightening formulations.

Tocopheryl Nicotinate (CAS 16676-75-8 and others) is the ester of d-alpha-tocopherol (natural vitamin E) with nicotinic acid. Unlike nicotinic acid itself, the nicotinate ester is gradually cleaved in skin to release both vitamin E and nicotinic acid, providing combined antioxidant and skin-circulation benefits. Vitamin E and its derivatives are not restricted in EU cosmetics. The nicotinate form is considered gentler than free nicotinic acid and does not cause the flushing associated with nicotinic acid supplements.
