Tretoquinol (or trimetoquinol) is a selective beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist used as a bronchodilator in the treatment of asthma and COPD. Its pharmacological mechanism of action (catechol-based sympathomimetic) means it affects smooth muscle relaxation throughout the body. Cosmetic use of beta-agonists is not recognized as safe.
