About
A lanolin-derived ethoxylated phosphate ester that acts as a water-soluble emollient and emulsifier with excellent skin compatibility.
Trilaneth-4 Phosphate is a phosphate ester of ethoxylated lanolin alcohols (3 moles EO) used as a surfactant, emulsifier, and water-soluble emollient. Lanolin derivatives are widely used in skin care and are not subject to EU Annex restrictions unless specifically modified. Phosphate esters of this type are generally regarded as safe in cosmetic use, though they may be mild skin irritants at high concentrations. The ethoxylation modifies the lanolin to reduce allergenic potential compared to unmodified lanolin.
