A fully-saturated triglyceride of undecanoic (C11) acid — a light, silky emollient with a clean safety profile.
Triundecanoin (CAS 13552-80-2) is a triester of glycerin with three molecules of undecanoic acid, a saturated odd-numbered C11 fatty acid. As a saturated triglyceride it is oxidatively stable and resistant to rancidity, giving a dry, non-greasy skin-feel useful in anhydrous makeup, body oils and hair treatments. Similar in structure and safety profile to caprylic/capric triglyceride; CIR has reviewed related medium-chain triglycerides as safe as used. No GHS hazards, no known sensitization or carcinogenicity signals.
