About
A large-molecule polymeric hair fixative that forms flexible films on hair, providing long-lasting style retention without significant skin penetration.
VP/Vinyl Caprolactam/DMAPA Acrylates Copolymer is a high-molecular-weight polymeric hair fixative (CAS 243643-82-5) composed of vinyl pyrrolidone, vinyl caprolactam, and dimethylaminopropyl acrylamide monomers. As a polymer with a molecular size well above the ~500 Da threshold for skin penetration, systemic absorption is negligible. The ingredient is not listed in EU Annex II (prohibited) or Annex III (restricted) under Regulation 1223/2009. The residual monomers may carry minor concerns, but they are typically present only at trace levels in the polymerized form.
