About
Mountain wormwood flower oil — a potent essential oil best used heavily diluted. Carries typical daisy-family allergy and thujone-chemotype caveats.
Artemisia montana flower oil is a steam-distilled essential oil from the East-Asian mountain wormwood. Chemotypes vary: some contain significant thujone, camphor, or 1,8-cineole — volatile monoterpenes that are skin-active and can irritate or sensitize at higher concentrations. The EU restricts thujone-rich materials in fragrances. There is no CIR opinion specific to A. montana. Like other Artemisia essential oils, it should be used below 0.1% in leave-on products and patch-tested. No dedicated GHS classification, but thujone-bearing oils carry H315/H317 warnings in suppliers' data.
