About
A hybrid emollient combining beeswax, dimethicone, and polyethylene glycol that conditions both skin and hair with a smooth, non-greasy feel.
This ingredient is the partial ester of beeswax fatty acids with a dimethicone derivative, end-blocked with an average of 12 moles of ethylene oxide (PEG-12). The beeswax component provides natural emolliency while the dimethicone-PEG combination adds softness and spreadability. PEG-12 dimethicone is listed in the EU cosmetics positive list with no restrictions, and beeswax (Cera Alba) is similarly unrestricted. However, the PEG component raises concerns for individuals with PEG allergy, and the ethoxylation process can introduce trace 1,4-dioxane contamination.
