About
A cadmium salt — banned in cosmetics in the EU and classified as a Group 1 human carcinogen. Do not use.
Cadmium fluoride (CAS 7790-79-6) is an inorganic cadmium(II) salt. Cadmium and cadmium compounds are listed by IARC as Group 1 (carcinogenic to humans) and are classified under EU CLP as Carc. 1B, Muta. 2, Repr. 2, and acutely and chronically toxic. EU Cosmetics Regulation Annex II entry 130 prohibits cadmium and its compounds in cosmetic products. Cadmium also bioaccumulates and causes renal toxicity at chronic low doses. There is no acceptable cosmetic use case and the historical listing should be treated as an error in the ingredient database.
