About
Aluminium hydroxide — a white mineral pigment and colour base (lake substrate). Used to create pigment lakes and as a gentle skin protectant in makeup.
CI 77002 (Aluminium Hydroxide, CAS 21645-51-2) is an inorganic colorant permitted under EU Annex IV/118. It consists predominantly of Al(OH)₃ with varying amounts of basic aluminium sulfate. Widely used as a substrate for lake pigments (binding organic dyes to create insoluble pigments), as an opacifier, and as a skin protectant. It has antacid properties and is used in pharmaceutical applications. No GHS hazards assigned.
